SSR-W has recently launched its own app via Youmie. The Wageningen student society, founded in 1931, is one of the city’s largest social societies, with over 750 members and nineteen society houses. The society has many traditions, such as year clubs, debating societies and pub customs, and has sister societies spread throughout the Netherlands. Equality is central to its ethos.
With the app, members have all the society’s information in one central place, right in their pockets. The noticeboard features announcements, committee updates, open-house events and an internal marketplace. In the photo albums, members share photos of activities and parties. Via the ‘more’ menu, they can find important documents and the contact details of the student counsellors. This ensures members stay informed and can easily keep in touch with one another and with the society. Youmie builds association apps for social clubs and other student societies that currently store their documents and contact details in various places, featuring a ‘More’ menu where everything is brought together in one place.
