K.S.V. Sint Franciscus Xaverius has recently launched its own app via Youmie. Wageningen’s largest student society has thus brought its calendar, photo albums and membership list together in one place. Franciscus was founded on 7 November 1910 as a Catholic students’ association and now has around 900 members. In addition to the main society, the association comprises year groups, debating societies, committees, houses, vertical groups and sub-associations.
With so many members and activities, there’s plenty going on each week. The calendar lists all Franciscus events in one place, from ‘Francerious Request’ to the General Meeting and the Franciskerst. The photo albums are well-stocked: there are now well over a hundred in the app, and that number keeps growing. The support officers are also included in the membership list, so that members can find them quickly and getting in touch remains easy. In this way, the association demonstrates that mental wellbeing is a top priority. Youmie builds apps for student societies that currently share their calendars and contact details via email and social media, featuring a membership directory where trusted advisors can also be found easily.
