G.S.V.V. The Knickerbockers from Groningen has recently launched its own app via Youmie. The student football club was founded in 1967 and has grown to become the largest student football club in the northern Netherlands, with dozens of senior and women’s teams. Every Saturday, football is played at the TKBello sports ground, with the clubhouse serving as the regular base afterwards. As well as football, there is a packed programme of tournaments, weekend events and parties.
In a club of this size, there is a lot of information circulating. The Knickerbockers share the fixture lists via the documents in the app, so that members always have access to the most recent version. The membership database lists all current teams with their respective roles, from captain to coach. The app has just gone live and the club is already looking ahead: in 2027, an alumni database will be added, along with the Lustrum module for the upcoming lustrum.
