Every semester, thousands of international students come to Groningen, and for many of them, student life begins at ESN Groningen. They have recently launched their own app. The Erasmus Student Network branch has been in existence since 1987 and is the city’s largest international student organisation. Six board members and over 60 committee members organise more than 150 activities a year.
Three features of the app stand out:
- Intro Week module: with around 5,000 international students, ESN Groningen organises one of the largest Intro Weeks for international students. New members create an account, specify their preferences and purchase tickets, membership or merchandise.
- Forms: the Pro package is packed with handy features, including forms. ESN Groningen uses these to gather all sorts of information from members, from their interest in joining a committee to all manner of other questions.
- Mandatory surveys: members must first complete the general member survey before they can proceed in the app. This ensures feedback is collected and the responses are automatically exported to Excel. It’s as easy as pie!
