The USRA app is now live. With around 2,000 members and supporters, the Dronten-based society is the largest agricultural students’ society in the Netherlands and is affiliated with Aeres University of Applied Sciences. In addition to its own social club, Ad Libitum, USRA has an extensive organisational structure: an executive committee, thirteen standing committees, working groups, twelve debating societies and year groups.
Three features of the app stand out in particular:
- Almanac — the association’s full structure is listed in the app, with the different member groups clearly organised together.
- Birthdays and congratulations — members can follow their friends within the society and receive a notification when a friend has a birthday.
- Marketplace on the noticeboard — on the marketplace timeline, students from Dronten buy and sell all sorts of things to one another, from sofas to tickets for events.
In a society of this size, this is a great help: it’s easy to find out who belongs where, and socialising isn’t limited to the clubhouse. In this way, USRA’s social life comes together in one place.
