The B.I.L. study association has recently launched its own app via Youmie. The B.I.L. is the study association for Public Administration at Leiden University and has its club room in The Hague. The society was founded in 1985 and has over 1,200 members. As well as study workshops, tutoring and lecture notes, B.I.L. organises social gatherings, parties, networking events and trips.
With so many members and activities, an app comes in very handy. In the members’ directory, members can look each other up, including phone numbers — handy if you only recognise someone from your study group by sight. The dashboard displays the calendar, and the executive committee can customise the layout of this dashboard as they see fit. Members use the app to register for events, ranging from pub quizzes to freshers’ weeks. They can also use the noticeboard to offer second-hand books to one another.
