From this season onwards, members of G.S.V.V. Donitas will be able to find the fixture list and team line-ups all in one app. The Groningen Student Volleyball Association has over 350 members and thirty teams, ranging from the top division to recreational players, and describes itself as the largest student volleyball association in the Netherlands. As well as the league, there are home days, tournaments and holiday events, organised by a range of committees. With so many teams operating alongside one another, it helps if everyone can find the same information in one place.
Three features in Donitas handle this:
- Almanac — all the volleyball teams are listed in the app, so members can see straight away who is in which team.
- Documents in the ‘More’ menu — the club’s fixture list is available as a document in the app, so nobody has to search to find out when matches are taking place.
- Polls — the committee can quickly gauge members’ views on new ideas and see straight away what’s on their minds.
For a club with thirty teams, what matters most is that information is shared once and is then correct for everyone. Youmie builds member apps for student volleyball clubs and other student sports clubs that currently manage their team line-ups and fixtures via email and separate files, bringing the calendar and documents together in one place. For Donitas, this means a single app for all teams.
